A better update of whats been going on in our lives.

Alright so we get really busy and always forget about the blogging world, but I think we can do alot better. Brittany's not too good at this stuff anyways so I think I will have to step in time to time to help out. I'll cut her some slack since she has been working well over 40 hours a week managing at Nordys. I've been really busy with fire school and its so fun. I can't tell you how fun school is and how nice it is to be really passionate about a career. I think growing up everyone has these dream jobs and I think only a few people out there ever end up doing their dream job. I am excited about being one of those guys.
A quick rundown of what fire school is like for you, at 7 am we do PT, hit the gym or run. Lately we've been running a quick 4 mile to the lake and back. Then after we hit the showers and get into our uniforms. We'll do our equipment maintenance and engine checks. Each company (group of 3-4 team) has their own engine, and are responsible for making sure everthing is in order and working properly. After, our instructors come out and inspect our uniforms. Some days we have lectures in the class or tests that are usually more than 200 questions. If you get below an 80 on a test, it is considered a failure. on the third failed test, you are out. Everyday we go outside in our gear and run drills, learn skills, or do evolutions. An evolution is a normal duty that an engine company receives, such as a fire, car fire, performing ventilation on a house(cutting the hole in the roof), etc. Its a lot of work but is always worth it. I come home exhausted most days and am glad Brittany is kind enough to make me dinner after she's been working.
We had a really fun weekend. On friday we went to one of our favorite restaurants, Mama Chu's, with our friends Marsha and Johnny Clayton. Its a great place to eat at the mouth of Provo Canyon. On Saturday, I went up to Park City to snowboard but was pretty bummed since there wasn't any fresh powder. We've been getting pounded so much lately that I have gotten some of the best snow of my life and on numerous occasions was lucky enough to be one of the first to hike up and drop Jupiter peak at PC.

This is were it all goes down......Jupiter Peak

Later that evening, we went up to Johnny's family cabin up big cottonwood canyon, right across from Brighton ski resort. We had a great time and the cabin is super cool. I was proud of Brittany because the Cabin doesn't have running water which = no bathroom. There is a heated outhouse however, but Brittany didn't complain once about it. We stayed the night then headed home for church. Its nice sleeping in the mountains and waking up to nothing but birds chirping.

Well I think this world is getting smaller. I just made the connection that (this is Stephanie) that you guys are close friends with Johnny Clayton. That is my second cousing and we are very close with that family. Ha ha I didn't know you guys were close with them. Thats funny we should all go to dinner sometime.
